Did you know that this year is the centennial celebration of the Army Aviation? I got this great news from BlackFive.net. It is so nice to know the history of our military aviation – how it started, survive from the many wars, and evolve until now.
Way back in September 1908, Wright brothers’ airplane, Model A Flyer, took off at Fort Myer, Virginia. After a year, it was sold to the US Army that lead to the born of Army aviation. And the rest is history.
For me, the 100th anniversary of Army Aviation is a wonderful time to commemorate the Military’s continuing aviation legacy and support for our freedom. This gives us moment to remember the contributions of the many pioneers and to look at the future of our army aviation.
